This case study features a kitchen remodel in Hinsdale, Illinois. Here we showcase the details of the renovation, to give clients an in depth look at our design and remodel process.
The Problem:
This Hinsdale kitchen was not only dated and falling apart, but it was also very sterile, compartmentalized and separated from the main living space.
The Solution:
We completely changed the footprint of this kitchen by removing multiple walls. A full bathroom, a powder room and a sauna were removed and converted into our kitchen footprint. A back hallway was converted into a walk in pantry and powder room.
Several new doorways were framed to welcome guests in from both the living and dining rooms. A large island houses an undermount sink, dishwasher and trash, and still allows for multiple guests to mingle at. A professional range is oriented front and center, topped by a custom hood and walnut floating shelf and trim.
Glass floor to ceiling cabinets kept the kitchen light and open and became the perfect place to display glasses and serving platters, while offering plenty of functional storage. Dark natural soapstone countertops were a great contrast against our mushroom painted cabinets, and high variation backsplash tile added warmth and pulled everything together.
Retro island lights were given new life and portray the clients personal style. We love the vibe here and how it all turned out!
